Job Description:

The Department of Chemistry & Physics invites applications for a one-year, full-time Lecturer in Chemistry for the  academic year, beginning September 2026. We seek an engaged, student-centered educator comfortable teaching undergraduate organic chemistry lecture and labs and/or biochemistry lecture and labs. Lecturers teach the equivalent of four courses per semester, which may include labs, use inclusive teaching practices that support a diverse student body, and participate in departmental and college-wide service activities.

The Lecturer will benefit from mentorship and career development in the department.

The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Emmanuel College offers an ACS approved degree and is located in the Wilkens Science Center, blocks from the Longwood Medical Area, equipped with excellent facilities and instrumentation. Faculty are dedicated to excellence in teaching, undergraduate research, and preparing students for careers in the chemistry, healthcare, education, and related fields.

Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry (completed by start date)
  • Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching
  • Experience teaching or strong interest in organic chemistry and biochemistry

The posted salary range reflects the good-faith compensation estimate for this position. The actual pay offered will be based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity factors. $68,
