Job Description
Graduate Admissions Advisor at Metropolitan College in Boston, MA. This full‑time, regular position is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, admission, and onboarding processes for prospective graduate students. The advisor engages potential students through phone, email, text, and presentations, guiding them through the admissions journey and ensuring a smooth transition into the college community. The role operates within a hybrid work arrangement and collaborates closely with academic departments, faculty, staff, and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities- Student Recruitment and Outreach
- Proactively engage with prospective students who have expressed interest in or applied to Metropolitan Colleges graduate programs.
- Utilize phone, email, and text to conduct outreach and build relationships.
- Provide detailed program information and answer applicant inquiries.
- Admissions Support and Application Management
- Assist prospective students through the entire application process.
- Review and evaluate applications based on academic department standards.
- Coordinate admission decisions with department faculty and staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of applications.
- Recruitment Events and Activities
- Represent Metropolitan College at recruitment events, including webinars, information sessions, and other outreach activities.
- Help plan and execute recruitment strategies and promotional materials.
- Student Onboarding and Transition
- Facilitate a smooth transition for newly admitted students.
- Guide students on enrollment procedures and connect them with relevant academic departments.
- Follow up to ensure enrollment steps are completed.
- Collaboration and Strategy Development
- Work closely with senior Admissions staff, program directors, and marketing staff.
- Contribute to strategic recruitment plans based on insights and feedback.
- CRM and Record‑Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and interactions using the college CRM system.
- Track application progress and student engagement metrics for data‑driven decisions.
- Continuous Improvement and Feedback
- Stay informed about graduate education trends and share insights with the team.
- Enhance student experience and contribute to program success.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred 2+ years of experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, or a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of students and stakeholders.
- Proficient in CRM systems and other communication tools.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to a team-oriented environment.
- Independent worker with initiative in a fast‑paced setting.
The Graduate Admissions Advisor will join a collegial and collaborative team, working closely with academic departments, faculty, staff, and administrative offices. A hybrid work arrangement is available.
