Job Overview

Building Sciences Fall Adjunct Faculty Position at the School of Architecture and Design (SoAD), Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, Massachusetts. The position is part‑time and will be held during the 2026 fall semester. The instructor will teach BSCI
4000 – Building Performance Analysis, a 4‑credit course organized on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00–9:45AM. The class runs from September8th to December8th, followed by a review and exam period.

Course Details

Building Performance Analysis focuses on advanced digital tools for simulation, prediction and analysis of building components, whole buildings and urban environments. Students explore Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Building Energy Modeling (BEM), including BIM‑to‑BEM workflows, interoperability and contemporary modeling challenges. The course uses a combination of lectures, demonstrations, case studies and group projects to help students understand how integrated digital tools can inform energy‑conscious design strategies from early conceptual stages through detailed design development.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver instructional content for the course syllabus.
  • Conduct lectures, demonstrations and facilitate discussions.
  • Guide students through case studies and group projects.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, projects and examinations.
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and course materials.
Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    Master’s degree in architecture, environmental design or a related field.
  • Preferred:
    Prior university‑level teaching experience.
  • Flexibility in teaching methods to address diverse student needs and interests.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM and BEM concepts and applications.
Compensation & Benefits

Adjunct faculty compensation varies based on instructional mode (lecture or lab) and number of course credits. The minimum adjunct rate is $1,365 per credit.
