Position OverviewThe Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction is a pivotal leader responsible for ensuring academic excellence through the development, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous, arts‑integrated curriculum. As an EL Education school, the Coordinator upholds the principles of Expeditionary Learning, fostering a culture of high achievement, character development, and collaborative learning. The role involves supporting teachers in effective instructional practices, fostering professional development, and driving innovative approaches to teaching and learning that align with the school’s mission to integrate music and academics.
Key Responsibilities- Support school‑based administrative tasks as assigned.
- Oversee the design, alignment, and implementation of the school’s curriculum in compliance with Massachusetts state standards, EL Education principles, and the school’s educational philosophy.
- Collaborate with teachers and department leaders to integrate music and arts into core academic subjects.
- Regularly evaluate and refine curriculum materials and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Support teachers in developing effective instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, project‑based learning, and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to promote high‑quality teaching.
- Serve as a resource for instructional best practices, incorporating evidence‑based methods and innovative approaches.
- Design and deliver professional development sessions for teachers aligned with school goals, EL Education principles, and individual teacher growth needs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging collaboration and peer learning among staff.
- Teaching experience.
- At least 2 years of coaching experience.
- At least 2 years of administrative experience.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
