Expected Hiring Range: $62,525.00–$81,175.00 (Based on qualifications, experience, etc.)
Job SummaryThe Assistant Director provides career coaching services to BU Questrom School of Business full-time MBA students and occasionally part-time students and alumni. The role offers individual career coaching, workshops, website and social media content, and other innovative programming to support student career development. The Assistant Director collaborates with career‑related teams and manages student information, employment data, and program promotion.
Responsibilities Career Coaching (60%)- Serve as primary career coach to full‑time MBA students.
- Hold coaching meetings, follow up with students, and document interactions.
- Coach students on assessment interpretation, career strategy, internship and job search, resumes, Linked In, cover letters, networking, interview preparation, negotiation, and onboarding.
- Manage communications regarding career requirements and upcoming programming.
- Track and document employment data and reporting aligned with accreditation and ranking requirements.
- Collaborate with the MBA Career Coaching Team to deliver curriculum and workshops to MBAs.
- Track attendance, ensure deadlines, and enhance curriculum to reflect market trends.
- Improve delivery by integrating in‑person, virtual, and digital resources.
- Partner with Industry Relations Managers for comprehensive student support.
- Collaborate with faculty, program directors, and academic advisors on career initiatives.
- Participate in professional organizations to enhance best practices and reinforce the BU Questrom brand.
- Pursue professional development to improve domain knowledge.
- B.A./B.S. required;
Master’s preferred. - 4–6 years of experience in career counseling, education or a related field.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and able to present in a classroom setting.
- Available for occasional flexible hours: early mornings, late afternoons, evenings and weekends.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to student success.
