Course
Description:
In Culinary Arts, students will learn the necessary skills that are essential in any culinary environment: advanced culinary techniques, budgeting, and menu creation. The project will end with a community-based pop-up kitchen that pushes the boundaries of traditional flavor profiles while maintaining rigorous standards of execution, sustainability, and kitchen management.
Responsibilities- Prepare for Projects:
Up to 2 hours per week preparing for Projects. - Teach students in the Culinary Arts Project on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:25pm-3:25pm (September to late May).
- Meet with students Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 hour each day, from September to late May.
- Provide long-term coaching during “Projects.”
- Occasional after-school participation at school events and activities.
- Experience as a chef or culinary arts leader with advanced culinary and cooking skills and techniques.
- Motivated leader capable of teaching students on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the specified hours.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students.
- Self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes and achieve objectives.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social-emotional and academic development.
Coaches will receive an annual stipend of $6,052.00 based on experience and contracted hours per week, paid semi-monthly.
If at any point during the year you stop performing these responsibilities before they are fully completed, your stipend will be adjusted in accordance.
