Job Description
Under the supervision of the Director, the Special Education Teacher’s Assistant supports the classroom teacher with instruction. They may be called upon to provide coverage for classroom teachers, as needed, when assigned by the director. They will receive on‑going support and feedback from the teachers they work with and the director.
Responsibilities- Deliver well‑planned small or whole group lessons in collaboration with the classroom teacher.
- Collaborate to plan for instruction with teachers and/or teams.
- Attend all grade level meetings and professional development.
- Participate in all aspects of the school day in the assigned classroom, including reinforcing classroom management, making classroom copies, and transitioning students throughout the day.
- Maintain professional demeanor with students and colleagues.
- Complete morning and afternoon duties as assigned by the school directors.
- Perform additional duties assigned without additional compensation or stipend.
- Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field.
- At least one year of classroom experience and/or student teaching through an accredited teacher preparation program.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred:
Bachelor degree. - Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
