About the Opportunity
Northeastern University’s Office of the Chancellor is hiring a 12‑month, full‑time Co‑op Faculty Coordinator to support graduate students in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences. The Coordinator will help students develop career skills and integrate their cooperative education experience with academic coursework.
Responsibilities- Educate and coach students through career development activities, including one‑on‑one sessions, workshops, and classroom instruction of interview, professional behavior, communication, workplace ethics, leadership, self‑awareness, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Teach a career education course each semester and provide guidance during group and individual meetings.
- Maintain contact with students during their co‑op placements and facilitate post‑placement reflection.
- Collaborate with academic faculty, administration, and the co‑op community to align co‑op and academic experiences, sharing industry insights to enhance curriculum.
- Develop new employer partnerships and expand existing employer programs through site visits, outreach, and participation in professional organizations; build and maintain client relationships.
- Participate in departmental service, including presentations to prospective and admitted students, committee work, and advising student organizations.
- Master’s degree in college student development, counseling, education, psychology, or a related field required.
- Minimum of three years of professional work experience, preferably in industry.
- Experience as a career coach; certification is a plus.
- Teaching experience in a classroom environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Proficiency with computer systems, technology, and database maintenance; strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of cooperative or experiential learning and its impact on career development.
- Academic or professional background in career development or counseling of graduate students.
- Experience working with international student populations.
- Professional experience within the technology industry.
