We are hiring an Elementary English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year at 100 Poydras St., Hyde Park. The role requires a valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and current U.S. work authorization.
Responsibilities- Provide co‑teaching, instructional and inclusion support in general education classes containing multilingual learners.
- Deliver targeted language interventions to multilingual students in small‑group settings.
- Use ELD levels and formative assessments to guide instruction and achieve language acquisition goals.
- Manage language acquisition programming: paperwork, teacher professional development, parent and student communication, testing/screening administration, and compliance with state requirements.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress via phone, text, email, and in‑person meetings.
- Collaborate with staff to disseminate best practices for building language in the classroom.
- Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations and provide support for student success.
- Participate in Match’s coaching and professional development programming.
- Assist with school programming during non‑instructional time (e.g., arrival, lunch, dismissal).
- Serve as a positive, collaborative member of the Match community.
- At least two years of full‑time experience as an ESL, classroom, or special education teacher, preferably in an urban setting.
- Valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or ability to obtain it by date of hire.
- Commitment to student success and continuous improvement of teaching practice.
- Proven record of student success and achievement.
