Job Summary
The Coordinator of Academic Support and MAICEI will work closely with the Assistant Dean of Accessibility and Title IX Coordinator to primarily focus on the Learning Center and services, supporting the college's MAICEI program, and collaborate with Success and Advising to coordinate workshops for academic success skill building. The role also coordinates tutoring, collaborates with faculty and Academic Affairs for supplementary support, and works with the Assistant Dean and other stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate and ensure that tutoring services offered through the Learning Center are reflective of needs and trends emerging from programs of study and changes in curriculum.
- Interview, train and coordinate professional tutors, comprehensive schedule to reach day and evening students and foster best practices for virtual and on campus academic support experiences.
- Partner with faculty, department chairs and academic administration to enhance co-curricular integration of learning center with programs of study by coordinating class presentations on topics of academic success, class trips to the learning center for accessing resources and services and managing open communication for faculty referrals for students needing academic support.
- Manage Learning Center scheduling, referrals and overall interfacing with EAB Navigate.
- Identify, request and manage educational technologies to promote academic success and accessible supplemental instruction through platforms such as Brain Fuse.
- Collaborate with Success to implement Peer Mentor program.
- Research, design and coordinate workshops for students to promote executive skills and academic success.
- Coordinate imbedded tutoring with faculty and Academic Affairs for gateway courses.
- Assist with registering general students during peak registration windows for fall, spring and summer.
- Collaborate with Testing and Assessment to identify students in need of "Boot Camp" for academic review to successfully retest into college level math and English.
- Coordinate MAICEI program by working with the Boston Consortium, manage student application process and coordinate educational coaches for participating students.
- Serve on Early Intervention Team and collaborate with team members to implement proactive plans to address students of concern.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Sociology, or closely related field; with five (5) years experience and/or training that includes academic advisement, academic placement, counseling, career development, math/electronics teaching, or program/project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working with learners with autism and intellectual or developmental delays
- Commitment to supporting a community with a diversity of backgrounds and life experiences which impact the learning and teaching process.
- Familiarity and comfortability working with Microsoft Office and information management systems such as Jenzabar, EAB Navigate, etc.
