We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our faculty in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston as a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Sport Leadership and Administration to begin September 1, 2026. Candidates with scholarly expertise in equity in sport, whose teaching, research, and service will advance our college mission and the commitments outlined in our university strategic plan, are particularly encouraged to apply.

About the College and ProgramThe College of Education and Human Development is ranked the top public school of education in the state of Massachusetts (U.S. News and World Report, 2025) and is guided by core values of social justice, community engagement, and academic excellence. The Sport Leadership and Administration program is housed in CEHD’s Counseling, School Psychology and Sport Department, which also includes accredited Master’s programs and a B.A. in Sport Leadership and Administration.
The mission of the Sport Leadership and Administration program is to cultivate equity‑minded, character‑driven, and transformational leaders who will positively improve society through sport. The program prepares students for careers within the sport industry with the goal of transforming and improving organizations and communities.

Compensation and InclusionUMass Boston expects to pay within an approximate range between $80,000 and $85,850 for this position. The specific pay will be determined by the University based on the consideration of all relevant factors when an offer is extended. Exceptional candidates may be considered for salaries above the published range to ensure competitiveness within the academic market.
