In close partnership with families and community partners, we are an innovative learning community committed to enabling children to discover and develop the fullness of their individual gifts and helping their families thrive.

The ideal candidate brings a deep commitment to student-centered instruction, a belief in the intellectual capacity of every learner, and the ability to build a classroom culture rooted in curiosity, rigor, and mutual respect. The role also includes serving as a homeroom teacher and academic advisor, mentoring a teaching fellow, and contributing actively to school life and the broader community.

  • Inquiry-based, pushing students to generate and explore their own questions and insights through engagement with a wide range of problems, issues, themes, and texts.
  • Grounded in literacy, numeracy, and critical and independent thinking across all learning activities.
  • Committed to dignifying students by honoring the assets they bring and challenging them with a demanding, liberating curriculum that empowers them to determine what kind of people they want to become.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, rigorous math instruction for grades 7 and 8 aligned with Epiphany's teaching philosophy.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum, unit plans, pacing guides, and assessments; regularly update materials based on current research and best practices.
  • Grade and return student work in a timely manner; maintain grades in Gradelink and ensure all report cards are completed and edited promptly.
  • Serve as a homeroom teacher, running morning and afternoon advisory (TEACH) periods and supporting students' organizational and academic development.
  • Maintain regular, meaningful contact with advisee families; write insightful narrative report card comments incorporating feedback from other teachers.
  • Mentor and coach a teaching fellow, supporting classroom takeover when appropriate.
  • Provide evening study supervision once per week, which may include dinner, athletics, or club supervision and dismissal.
  • Fulfill additional school duties as needed, including front desk coverage, lunch/recess supervision, and substitute class coverage.
  • Attend all community events, weekly Eucharist services, parent conferences, professional development days, and school retreats.
Ideal Candidate
  • Deeply committed to equity, urban education, and the dignity of every student.
  • Skilled at building inclusive, high-expectation classroom cultures grounded in curiosity and mutual respect.
  • Strong collaborator and communicator with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Enthusiastic and engaged participant in the full life of the school community.
