Job Details
This is a long‑term substitute position expected to begin on 09/08/2026 and end on 01/04/2027. Substitute teachers are hired as per diem subs, even in long‑term assignments. All substitutes begin at the per diem rate of pay. Refer to our website for further information.
Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Education.
- Core Competencies:

- Professional Reflection & Collaboration – reflective practice, professional collaboration.
Qualifications – Required
- Hold a Bachelor's degree.
- Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Physical Education at the appropriate level.
- Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and highly qualified.
- Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching as outlined above.
- Current authorization to work in the United States – must have by the first day of employment.
Qualifications – Preferred
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
- Fluent in one of BPS’s official languages:
Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali. - Certification in core content and proficiency in Moderate Disabilities or English as a Second Language at the appropriate grade levels.
