Job Description

We are looking for a creative, inventive, and devoted Science Teacher who reports to the Lower School Principal.

Qualifications
  • Belief in the school’s core values of scholarship, belonging, passion, responsibility, and integrity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or in the subject area for which you are applying (required).
  • Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting (preferred).
  • Passed the required Massachusetts Test for Educational Licensure (MTEL) and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement or willingness to work toward certification.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in subject area expertise, child/adolescent development, and leading a diverse group of students in academic or non‑academic settings.
  • Ability to speak authentically about the imperative for diversity, equity, and inclusion in schools and recognize how your identity impacts your work.
Responsibilities
  • On-campus from 7:30 a.m.

    -4:30 p.m. daily.
  • Plan for, grade for, and teach 4–5 periods daily (4 content‑based, 1 intervention‑based).
  • Assume responsibility and coverage for students outside of the classroom commensurate with your position.
  • Attend weekly meetings/professional development and receive personalized coaching.
  • Commit to learning about and practicing anti‑racist work, including restorative justice approaches to building relationships.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and proactively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Use data regularly to drive organizational decisions.
  • Receive and appreciate feedback in pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Hold students consistently accountable to academic and behavioral expectations.
  • Actively contribute to the school and position‑based teams.
  • Affirm that educators grow best when held to high expectations for rigor, relationships, and relevance.
Compensation & Benefits

Instructional salary scale based on years of prior experience, ranging from $62,500 to $97,475 per year. Additional compensation for advanced degrees or a Special Education license.
