Brief Overview
The Biology Department of the School of Sciences and Health Professions at Simmons University is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Biol 332-01. The course will be taught in person from September 2, 2026 to December 19, 2026.
Course DescriptionStudies the physiological and adaptive responses of the human body to acute and chronic exercise stress. Examines how exercise affects major organ systems across the spectrum of healthy and unhealthy populations. Laboratory uses a variety of exercise equipment to apply physiological concepts to exercise testing, prescription, and training.
Responsibilities- Lecture and lead in class discussions on Tuesdays and Thursdays (11:00 AM – 12:20 PM).
- Assess student understanding through exams, quizzes, worksheets, group projects, and other assignments.
- Prepare and grade exams, quizzes, assignments, and final exams; submit grades by January 4, 2027 at 10:00 AM.
- Provide office hours and academic support to students.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student grades.
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biology or related field.
- Experience teaching Biology courses.
- Experience teaching Exercise Physiology or Anatomy & Physiology.
- $6,395 per course. This is a non-benefits eligible position.
