This opening is for a High School Special Education Teacher at our campus located at 1001 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton. The role involves co‑teaching, inclusion support, and managing a caseload of special education students. Compensation ranges from $61,812–$98,899 depending on teaching experience. Benefits include 90% coverage of health insurance costs and student loan repayment assistance.
Responsibilities- Co‑teach and support high school students with disabilities.
- Provide inclusion support and instruction in regular education classes containing IEP students and, when necessary, teach separate classes.
- Help manage the school’s special education programming, including paperwork, filing, teacher professional development, parent and student communication, administration of student testing/screening, and compliance with Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements.
- Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students and provide extensive support for their success.
- Participate actively in coaching and professional development programming.
- Assist with school programming during non‑instructional time as needed.
- Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least two years of full‑time experience as a classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban setting.
- Valid and appropriate Special Education license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire.
- Belief that all students can and will succeed.
- Desire to continually improve teaching practice through feedback.
- Proven record of student success and achievement.
- Ability to work well on a team and willingness to support colleagues.
