Teacher - Moderate Disabilities/Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Gr. 3-5 (SEI Endorsement Required) [Anticipated Vacancy] (SY26-27)

This is an anticipated vacancy expected to be vacant by 8/22/2026. The position will be confirmed only after vacancy; you may begin the year as a Long‑Term Substitute if not vacant by the start of the school year.

Boston Public Schools seeks a highly qualified Special Education ABA Teacher with an SEI Endorsement to teach students with moderate to severe cognitive delays. This role supports the district’s vision of high expectations, equal access, and achievement proficiency for all students.

Reports to Principal/Head of School.

• Implement district learning goals and objectives, aligning with state frameworks, and identify access points for student portfolio development.
• Provide small‑group instruction to students diagnosed with moderate to severe cognitive delays, ensuring understanding and progress in the general curriculum.
• Write and implement goals and objectives consistent with student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and provide timely progress reports.
• Provide accommodations for student learning and testing as required; develop curriculum and analyze student work for MCAS Alternative Assessment.
• Collaborate with school building staff to respond to student needs for modification.
• Assist students transitioning to adult living services when appropriate.

• Hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level.
• Hold either an ESL License or SEI Endorsement at the appropriate level.
• Meet all state and federal guidelines for full licensure and being Highly Qualified.
• Meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by Boston Public Schools.
• Current authorization to work in the United States, effective on first day of employment.

• Experience teaching in urban schools.
• Degree in Special Education.
• Fluency in BPS official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali) or another language.
• Certification in subject area plus Moderate Disabilities or English as a Second Language.
