Eligibility Requirements
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
- Enrolled at least half‑time in a degree, diploma, or certificate‑seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
- Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre‑registered for the upcoming fall semester.
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
- Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work despite not yet having an official GPA.
- Federal Work Study student may apply.
- In good disciplinary standing.
- Must be located in the U.S.
- Plan lessons and classes.
- Create educational materials.
- Keep careful attendance records.
- Assess students using rubrics.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and recitals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Student worker – Graduate student in Music Education; student in one of the Autism‑based graduate programs preferred.
- Knowledge of arts education for people with disabilities, special education, Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction, experience with people with disabilities and/or their families.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, creative and proactive thinking.
- Strong collaboration skills, ability to work independently and thrive in a high activity area.
- Lesson planning skills, teaching skills in the arts for people with disabilities.
- Desire to learn and grow as a teacher with constructive support and feedback.
- Openness to constructive, supportive feedback.
Hourly Rate: $51.50.
