Job Description About Boston PrepBoston Prep is a college‑preparatory charter public district with a single middle and high school. In 2026‑2027, the school will serve about 700 students in grades 6‑12, with a faculty of over 150 teachers and a large alumni network.
Our students come primarily from Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As a charter public school, we offer all students access through a lottery system, and we hold high expectations for those with special needs and English language learners.

ResponsibilitiesHours are 7:15 am–4:15 pm. The teacher plans and teaches four sections per day, delivers differentiated instruction, holds office hours, and manages small‑group instruction blocks.
- Collaborate with co‑teachers and specialists to meet the needs of all students.
- Provide targeted feedback based on equitable grading practices.
- Create standards‑aligned, data‑informed, culturally affirming curriculum.
- Communicate progress with students, families, and leaders via phone, messaging, and conferences.
- Support character development through advisory, homeroom, ethics focus, and whole‑school activities.
- Participate in weekly staff professional development and One Team meetings.
- Maintain classroom management and foster an orderly learning environment.
- Engage in regular coaching meetings and implement feedback.
- Attend after‑school events to strengthen community ties.
- Serve as Advisor‑Mentor for 8‑15 students, leading advisory meetings and interventions.
The pay range is $59,406 – $110,759 per year.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required; master’s preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license appropriate for Physical Education.
- Passing scores on MTEL for Communications & Literacy and content area(s) required within first year.
- SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) required within first year.
- Previous teaching experience preferred; experience in a charter school setting is a plus.
- Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive education practices is a plus.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
