Position: Lower Elementary Special Education Teacher (2026-2027)

About the Opportunity

Lower Elementary Special Education Teacher (K-2nd) for the  school year. Position is based at Match Community Day, 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park, MA. Compensation ranges from $61,812 to $98,899 based on experience. Benefits include 90% coverage of health insurance and student loan repayment assistance.

Overview of Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide inclusion support and instruction in regular education classes with IEP students, and when necessary, teach separate classes.
  • Manage the school's special education programming including paperwork, teacher professional development, parent and student communication, student testing/screening, and compliance with DOE requirements.
  • Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students and provide support to achieve them.
  • Participate in coaching and professional development programming.
  • Assist with school programming during non-instructional time.
  • Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the community.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least two years of full-time experience as a classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban setting.
  • Meet Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teacher certification requirements or can meet them within one year of hire.
  • Believe that all students can succeed.
  • Desire to continually improve practice through feedback.
  • Proven record of student success and achievement.
  • Ability to work well on a team and support others.
