The Associate Director provides leadership for faculty engagement initiatives, including the Career Champions network, career curriculum development, and efforts to integrate career readiness into the academic experience. Working closely with faculty and staff who serve as advisors, mentors, and Career Champions, this role develops partnerships, resources, and educational initiatives that connect academic and career development to equip students with key career readiness skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and sustain partnerships with faculty, academic advisors, academic leaders, and campus partners to further integration of career readiness into courses, advising, and other academic and co-curricular experiences. Provide consultation, resources, workshops, and training that support career integration throughout the student academic experience.
  • Lead and manage the CCD's Career Champions network, developing and implementing strategies to engage members of the Boston University career ecosystem in fostering student career development. Coordinate training, communications, professional development opportunities, and resources that equip Career Champions to incorporate career conversations and career readiness into their work with students.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Career Education in advancing the CCD's Career Everywhere initiative and strengthening Boston University's career ecosystem. Collaborate with CCD teams including Career Education, Internships and Industry Partnerships, Operations, Marketing, Data, and campus partners to ensure alignment between academic partnerships and broader career education priorities.
  • Support implementation of standard data collection practices related to faculty engagement, Career Champions, career curriculum initiatives, and other academic partnership efforts. Utilize data in program planning and evaluation, produce reports as needed, and support the CCD's overall data analytics and assessment strategy. Manage budgetary resources as assigned.
  • Represent the CCD at special events and to designated departments, schools and colleges, committees, organizations, and campus groups, advancing career education priorities and strengthening Boston University's career ecosystem. Engage in professional development, including participation in office-sponsored, local, regional, and/or national associations, remaining current on best practices and trends in career education, curriculum design, teaching and learning, faculty engagement, and student success, and contributing to the profession through presenting, publishing, or serving on committees.
