Piano Faculty​/ Mentor

The Boston School of Music Arts, a well established area music school with two locations, is hiring qualified Piano instructors, due to expansion. Experience with an additional instrument ( Voice, Guitar, Violin, Drums, Trumpet) preferred. One location is in Lower Mills, Dorchester, 2nd location is in South Randolph. Experience with an additional instrument preferred.

A college degree in music is not required, although preferred. Solid experience performing, teaching, and great with children, organized and with an outgoing personality is required.

We are one of Boston's largest music schools with several hundred students taking lessons weekly, and we offer top pay, take care of all administration, payments and marketing, and more. It s a great position for talented musicians who are looking for steady work and who have a love for working with people, and helping to create new musicians.

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Piano Faculty member to join our team! The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching students ages 5 and up, and Adults, and can help to provide a great musical foundation. This is an in-school (not in-home or online-only) position.

The successful candidate will be a W2 employee, not a independent contractor

• Be trained in our lessons program
• Keep internal lessons notes
• Prepare students for community performances and school performances
• May prepare students for competitions as BSMA rep, or for special auditions.
• Will work with small groups and bands (
  group pay rate - is higher than rate advertised)

• Solid Piano skills
• Ability to create a warm, engaging, and encouraging music learning experience 1-on-1 and group setting
• Classroom or group class management experience, or interest.
• Must pass background test, showing suitability to teach children
• Can work independently, and be directed at times.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organized and responsible
• Ideally 2+ years  experience teaching music to ages 5 to Adult.
• Prefer Bachelor s degree in Music Education, or related field
