As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Cooking to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Boston. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:

• Develop age-appropriate Cooking curriculum for after-school students
• Lead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertise
• Establish a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged
• Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels
• Build connections with students in a warm and inclusive environment
• Track student growth and offer positive, helpful feedback
• Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach
• Create a memorable experience for the children in your class

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:

• Has subject matter expertise in Cooking, Baking, Culinary Art
• Has a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids
• Has excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning
• Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach
• Is cooperative, supportive, flexible
• Is dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per-student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one.
