Academic Administrator Chemistry

The Academic Administrator oversees the administration of all aspects of the Graduate Programs in the Chemistry Department, including B.A./M.A., M.A., and Ph.D. programs.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and to the faculty Directors of Graduate Studies and Graduate Admissions, this position's responsibilities include overseeing the logistics of student recruitment and their progress through the program, advising students on program logistics and requirements, managing student financial aid, hiring, and payroll, ensuring adherence to the BU Graduate Worker Union (BUGWU) contract, and coordinating professional development activities for graduate students.

Additionally, position requires year-round academic and financial tracking, reporting, and analysis for the Department's Graduate Program with regard to students' status, which is used for recruitment, retention and matriculation forecasting. Required Skills

B.A./B.S. degree 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting.
