Position Summary The Boston Arts Academy Pathways Coordinator is responsible for designing, coordinating, and evaluating programs that connect BAA students’ artistic and academic learning to college, career, and community opportunities. The Coordinator will oversee internships and externships, work-based learning, MYCAP documentation, dual enrollment, community partnerships, and transition services for students with disabilities—ensuring that every student graduates with a clear postsecondary plan aligned to their goals as aspiring artist-scholars and global citizens.

Position Summary The Boston Arts Academy Pathways Coordinator is responsible for designing, coordinating, and evaluating programs that connect BAA students’ artistic and academic learning to college, career, and community opportunities. The Coordinator will oversee internships and externships, work-based learning, MYCAP documentation, dual enrollment, community partnerships, and transition services for students with disabilities—ensuring that every student graduates with a clear postsecondary plan aligned to their goals as aspiring artist-scholars and global citizens.
This position serves as a bridge among students, faculty, families, industry partners, and postsecondary institutions, advancing BAA’s mission as Boston’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts and a beacon of artistic and academic innovation.
Core Responsibilities
College, Career, and Artistic Pathways
- Develop and manage internship opportunities (paid or unpaid) for both CTE (and eventually non-CTE) students.
- Work with the School Counseling Team to ensure 100% completion of the MyCAP (My Career and Academic Plan) portfolio for all students, documenting career exploration, postsecondary goals, and individual pathways.
- Support students and teachers in aligning dual enrollment experiences with MyCAP goals and BAA graduation competencies.
- Monitor student progress and outcomes in dual enrollment and postsecondary bridge programs.
- Collaborate with the School Counseling Department to plan and expand the annual College & Career Fair, bringing in new colleges, employers, and arts organizations.
- Coordinate community service opportunities by establishing and maintaining relationships with local nonprofits and civic organizations and track progress towards completing community service hours.
- Proctor SAT/PSAT/MAP/AP Testing as needed
- Serve as liaison with Pro Arts Consortium and higher education partners to coordinate dual enrollment and expansion of early college opportunities.
CTE and Transition Services
- Support the Creative Director in monitoring Career Technical Education (CTE) programming in Graphic Design and Visual Communication, Fashion Technology, and Multimedia Entertainment and Production.
- Collaborate with the Recruitment and Events Manager on the annual CTE admissions and recruitment process, ensuring equitable access and representation across all demographics.
- Collaborate with the Inclusion Specialist to provide targeted support for students with disabilities who require transition services or job-readiness planning as part of their IEP or postsecondary transition goals.
- Manage CTE operational needs, including inventory, budget, equipment, and safety standards for all CTE spaces.
- Work with CTE teachers in the management of competency and skill tracking for all CTE students in the Skills Library.
- Track, organize and ensure all students have completed credentialing requirements. Coordinate and run Program Advisory Committees for all CTE programs.
- Maintain all required documentation for each CTE program
- Attend all required district CTE meetings and lead weekly meetings for BAA CTE teachers
- Maintain 100-hour internship requirement as per the Chapter 74 requirements
- Assess and analyze CTE program performance and student outcomes; make recommendations to improve participation, achievement, and alignment with BAA’s strategic plan.
