Adjunct Faculty Appointments
The School of Architecture and Design (SOAD) seeks multiple part-time adjunct instructors for Fall 2026 to teach undergraduate and graduate architecture courses. Current openings include ARCH 2100:
History/Theory 01, ARCH 9200:
Research Methods, and ARCH 7910:
Principles of Passive House Design. ARCH 2100 (undergraduate) and ARCH 9200 (graduate) are coordinated, multi-section courses, while ARCH 7910 is a graduate elective. The fall semester begins on September 8th and ends on December 8th, followed by the final exam period.
ARCH 2100:
History/Theory 01 (on-campus, in-person)
Meets on Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00-2:45pm or 3:00-4:45pm
4 credits
ARCH 9200:
Research Methods (on-campus, in-person)
Meets on Wednesday and Friday, 8:00-9:45am
4 credits
ARCH 7910:
Principles of Passive House Design (synchronously online)
Meets on Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00-9:45am

The SOAD's mission is to empower design students and educators from all backgrounds to become creative, civic-minded problem-solvers, responding to global challenges and contributing to local communities. Students engage locally and globally, explore advanced technologies, collaborate within and across disciplines, gain industry experience via cooperative education, and learn to design sustainably and equitably.
Comprising approximately 940 undergraduate and 100 graduate students, the SOAD has robust international study opportunities at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
About the Architecture Program:
Wentworth's Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.S. Arch) program offers a rigorous studio-centered curriculum emphasizing design, technology, and community engagement. Students explore architecture across scales, functions, and contexts, with concentrations in Urbanism, Emerging Technologies, and Adaptive Interventions. The Architecture programs and faculty are deeply rooted in the Boston community and have a long history of partnering with community, government, and institutional organizations.
Two required cooperative education experiences bridge academic and professional practice.
The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) is a one-year, NAAB-accredited, STEM-designated program that prepares students to be leaders in a rapidly evolving profession. Through Global Research Studios and a structured thesis sequence, students engage pressing challenges in the built environment through an international lens.

Adjunct faculty compensation varies based on instructional mode (lecture or lab), number of course credits, and program. The minimum adjunct rate is $1,365 per credit.
