Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community. Job Title: Adjunct Faculty Early Childhood Education

Reports to:Assistant Dean of Liberal Arts

RCC is looking for qualified instructors in Social Sciences to teach online courses. Responsibilities may include developing quality course materials, supporting and encouraging student effort, grading student work and providing substantive feedback in a timely manner, using the Canvas learning management system to enhance learning and organization, and other related duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction of his/her assigned course(s)
  • Responsible for creating a classroom environment which fosters students' academic growth and guides their professional development.
  • Responsible for the creation and revision of daily lesson plans.
  • Responsible for accurate record keeping of student attendance and academic progress.
  • Correct and return quizzes, tests and lab assignments in a timely manner to students.
  • Utilize impactful instructional and audiovisual aids, and all available resources.
  • Follow a syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
  • Meet with and advise students before and after class or by appointment.
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a field relevant to the course(s) taught.
  • Teaching experience at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or other LMSs.
  • Teaching experience at a community college.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide diverse teaching methods to different learning styles.
  • Experience with online teaching and OER.
