Sigma Inc. is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Facilitator / Instructional Designer for a 9-month contract supporting the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
This is an onsite position at 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience facilitating instructor-led training, designing adult learning programs, developing engaging training materials, and supporting leadership development, communication, change management, conflict resolution, performance management, emotional intelligence, and inclusive workplace practices.

We are looking for a highly skilled Learning & Development Facilitator and Instructional Designer who can create engaging learning experiences and deliver high-quality training programs that support employee and leadership development.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional facilitator, presenter, communicator, and instructional designer who can create respectful, inclusive, and interactive learning environments. This individual should be comfortable guiding meaningful conversations, managing group dynamics, addressing sensitive workplace topics, and adapting training approaches to different audiences and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities Training Facilitation- Facilitate instructor-led training programs in both in-person and virtual environments using established curricula and learning materials.
- Deliver engaging workshops and learning experiences for employees and leaders at various organizational levels.

- Foster a psychologically safe and respectful learning environment.
- Manage different group dynamics and respond professionally to challenging questions and sensitive discussions.
- Travel within Massachusetts as needed for in-person training sessions.
- Design and develop learner-centered training programs and materials.

- Workshop materials
- Apply adult learning principles and established instructional design methodologies.
- Utilize methodologies such as:
- ADDIE
- SAM
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information, validate content accuracy, and develop relevant learning materials.
- Adapt existing curriculum and materials to meet organizational and learner needs.
- Ensure training content is clear, practical, engaging, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Collect and evaluate participant feedback and learning metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve training content, facilitation techniques, and learner engagement.
- Provide observations and recommendations to program leaders regarding participant engagement and training effectiveness.
- Use training data and participant feedback to support continuous improvement.

- 5+ years of experience facilitating instructor-led training, workshops, or adult learning programs.
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing instructor-led and blended learning solutions.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
