The Department of Chemistry at Boston College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in emerging areas of molecular chemical sciences, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. In exceptional cases, a higher-level appointment may be considered. We seek outstanding candidates whose research advances fundamental molecular science through innovative approaches in organic chemistry and closely related areas, including macromolecular chemistry and chemical biology.

The expected 9-month base salary range (paid over 12 months) for this position is $130,000-$135,000. The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, score of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.

We seek individuals whose research vision complements and expands the Department's existing strengths while fostering new opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across Boston College and beyond. A demonstrated commitment to building a collegial, collaborative, and intellectually vibrant research environment is essential.

In addition to maintaining a vigorous research program, the successful candidate will contribute to the Department's educational mission through excellence in teaching and mentoring. The candidate is expected to teach organic chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as other courses aligned with the candidate's expertise and departmental needs. The Department values innovative, student-centered and formative teaching that inspires the next generation of scientists.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field by the time of appointment, along with relevant postdoctoral research experience.
