Job DescriptionReports to: Principal/Head of School
Terms:
Part-time, approximately 17 hours per week during the school year (approximately 3 hours per day). Additional hours for required meetings, training, and professional development may be required.
Staff may opt to work all 17 hours or in any increment of 3 hours.
Rate: equivalent to $38/hour
Job Description:
Boston Public Schools is offering a fee-based PreK After school Program at participating schools. The program provides high-quality after school programming for students in PreK with developmentally appropriate learning experiences and care in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
The PreK After school Program Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for a small after school program serving approximately 16–20 children and a team of 2–3 after school staff. Working closely with the PreK After school Facilitator(s) and the Principal/Head of School, the Coordinator helps ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the program through staff scheduling, enrollment, communication, and other administrative support.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate staff schedules and arrange substitute or other coverage to ensure appropriate staffing for program operations.
- Coordinate student enrollment, maintain waitlists, and support program registration and fee collection activities.
- Maintain the program calendar and communicate schedule changes, school closures, and other program updates to staff and families.
- Maintain enrollment, attendance, and other program records as required.
- Coordinate the ordering and organization of program materials and supplies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for routine after school program communications with families, including enrollment, attendance, program calendar, and operations. Collaborate with the school's Family Liaison to ensure families receive timely information and appropriate support.
- Support the Principal/Head of School with administrative tasks related to the operation of the PreK After school Program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications –
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
- Experience working in a school, early childhood, after school, or other youth-serving setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work collaboratively with school staff, families, and after school Facilitators.
Qualifications – Preferred:
- Associate's Degree or higher.
- Experience coordinating schedules, enrollment, records, or other administrative functions.
- Experience working in a Boston Public Schools setting, particularly at the school where the position is located.
- Familiarity with the students, families, and school community served by the program.
