Description

As an early childhood seasoned educator or leader you feel driven to ensure teachers have the resources, support, and professional development they need to be successful educators. Your advanced knowledge of child development and early education inspires your colleagues, exciting them to bring their best selves into the classroom every day. As a seasoned professional you have the unique opportunity to partner with BPS (Boston Public Schools) to ensure Boston-based UPK programs are exceeding the standards to create a quality Preschool and Prekindergarten experience for children before they transition to the public school system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee multiple sites, providing mentoring and coaching in various communities within the Greater Boston area.
  • Ensure implementation of the YMCA and UPK educational practices including curriculum, inclusive and anti-bias education, and instructional practices.
  • Provide resources, support, guidance, performance coaching, modeling, training, observation, and feedback to teachers.
  • Use education quality tools to assess program and curriculum implementation.
  • Work closely with the designated BPS Universal PreK Coach to ensure classrooms are meeting and exceeding program expectations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
  • At least three years of leadership, mentoring, or coaching experience (required).
  • Experience in a high-quality program required, experience working in a NAEYC-accredited center (strongly preferred).
