In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled.
  • In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester.
  • This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in  valid  Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

The EPD office is looking for a self-motivated, responsible person to provide tutoring for EPD students.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to explain concepts taught in EPD core courses in music production and sound design, including specific knowledge of software used in class such as Logic Pro, Garage Band, FM7, Reaktor, Pro Tools, Kontakt, Ableton Live, and Max.

They should have a broad understanding of basic computer maintenance, the physics of sound, analog and digital synthesizers, analog and digital recording, sampling, effects processors, and MIDI production.

Responsibilities

Meeting with students, both one on one and in groups, and tutoring on a variety of EPD subjects, helping students work through challenges with technology and music production and sound design concepts, scheduling student meetings.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Applicant must be an EPD Major and finished with the 3xx level EPD core courses.
  • Demonstrate substantial knowledge of software used in class such as Logic Pro, FM7, Reaktor, Pro Tools, Kontakt, Ableton Live, and Max.
  • They should have a broad understanding of basic computer maintenance, the physics of sound, analog and digital synthesizers, analog and digital recording, sampling, effects processors, and MIDI production.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Maintain an overall GPA of a 3.0 or higher
  • Have good organizational and time management skills
  • Be able to balance academics and work
  • Be able to engage tutees with the learning process
  • Have an interest working one-on-one or in small groups with peers
  • Are responsible and dependable
  • Commit a minimum of 10-12 hours per week.
  • Become a leader and a role model for other students

Hourly Rate: $17.51
