Assistant Afterschool Facilitator, Gr. 1-6; Hennigan Elementary); PART-TIME); SY

REPORTS TO: After school Director

The After school Assistant Facilitator supports the implementation of the school's after school program. Working under the supervision of the After school Director and the day-to-day direction of an After school Facilitator, the Assistant Facilitator helps create a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports homework completion, enrichment, recreation, and positive youth development.

• Support After school Facilitator in delivering engaging daily programming, including homework support, enrichment, recreation, and youth development activities.
• Provide active supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of students during all program activities, transitions, and dismissal.
• Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports the participation and success of all students, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
• Build positive relationships with students and support positive behavior through encouragement, engagement, and consistent expectations.
• Support After school Facilitators by preparing materials, setting up activities, and maintaining program spaces.
• Assist After school Facilitators with attendance and required program documentation and reporting.
• Work collaboratively with After school Facilitators and the After school Director to support high-quality programming.
• Participate in required orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working with children or youth in an educational, recreational, camp, after school, or other youth-serving setting.
• Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

• Coursework toward a degree in education, child development, youth development, recreation, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Experience working with school-age children in an after school, summer, educational, recreation, or youth development setting.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities in inclusive educational or youth development settings.
• Experience working with multilingual learners and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole.

Part-time, approximately 17 hours per week during the school year. Additional hours for required meetings, training, and professional development may be required.

$22/hour
