Job Summary
The Office of Global Services (OGS) at Northeastern University provides professional expertise and support services needed for F-1/J-1 nonimmigrant students and scholars to maintain compliance through comprehensive immigration advising, transitional programming, leadership skill development, cultural events, and more. The OGS Graduate Intern will gain hands‑on experience in the field of international education, primarily focusing on providing student support services to international students and scholars.
The OGS Graduate Intern will work closely with the full OGS team, gaining insight into the comprehensive immigration advising, supporting student inquiries, and providing event support with the student support and programming team. The OGS Graduate Intern may also have the opportunity to work on specific projects depending on individual interests and skill base. This position will be based at the Boston campus for the duration of the Fall 2026 semester, September to December 2026.
This is a part‑time position, scheduled for 20-30 hours per week. The OGS Graduate Intern position is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week of on‑campus work at the Boston campus, with occasional evenings for supporting events.
- Supporting international students and scholars by planning and organizing programs and events, such as leading on‑campus events, facilitating webinars, and supporting student organizations with programming efforts
- Initial screening and review of student e‑form requests such as new student I‑20 requests, travel endorsements, etc.
- Working closely with the OGS Team to initiate and/or develop projects directly related to the functioning of the office and the experience of students throughout their lifecycle.
- A graduate degree candidate in a field of study either directly or closely related to International Education
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a demanding work environment
