In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory olled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. The

Vocal Pedagogy Graduate Assistants work with the assigned faculty, supporting all aspects of course instruction.

Courses supported by this position may include Structure and Function of the Singing Mechanism, History of Vocal Pedagogy, and other courses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Graduate assistants will work both in the classroom and outside of the class setting. They will support the faculty instructor in all areas of classroom management and course preparation, including copying, collecting homework, monitoring exams, taking attendance, and facilitating study sessions. They will attend all meetings of their assigned course. This job takes place fully on campus.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Currently enrolled in either the MFA in Musical Theater Vocal Pedagogy or the MM in Vocal Pedagogy at the Conservatory Has taken the class they are assisting with and/or has experience with and a deep understanding of the content of the course Able to work independently, recognize issues that need to be addressed, and have the self-motivation to address them Observant in the classroom and able to work effectively with the student population of the class
