Teacher - Elementary and Moderate Disabilities/Inclusion, Gr. 6 (Long-Term Substitute) (SY26-27)

Mattahunt Elementary, Boston, Massachusetts

This is a long‑term substitute position beginning 09/08/2026 and ending 01/04/2027. All substitute teachers are hired on a per diem basis. The position is expected to provide instruction in an inclusive setting with students who have moderate to severe cognitive delays and English Language Learners (SEI).

Teach the Elementary General Curriculum in an inclusive environment.

• Implement district learning goals and objectives in alignment with state frameworks for student portfolios.
• Provide small‑group instruction to students diagnosed with moderate to severe cognitive delays to support understanding and progress.
• Write and implement goals and objectives consistent with student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and provide timely progress reports.
• Provide accommodations for student learning and testing; develop and implement curriculum and prepare students for the MCAS Alternative Assessment.
• Collaborate with school staff to support other staff members in responding to student needs for modification.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
• Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6, Moderate Disabilities PK-8, and either an SEI Endorsement or an ESL license for the appropriate grade level.
• Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Demonstrate ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching outlined above.
• Hold current authorization to work in the United States.
