Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community. Position Summary
The Project Access Student Assistant provides entry-level outreach, front-desk, administrative, and resource-navigation support for Project Access. The role helps connect students to campus and community resources while building foundational skills in student services, outreach, office operations, research, communication, and community engagement.
Greet students and provide routine information about Project Access hours, services, and referral options.
Assist with appointment check-in, forms, resource packets, and approved outreach materials.
Perform routine filing, scanning, copying, data entry, and organization of program records.
Maintain resource displays, supply inventories, and routine participation logs.
Protect confidential information and refer student-specific benefit, crisis, eligibility, or case-management questions to professional staff.
Assist with on-campus workshops and events through setup, registration, materials, and attendance support.
Currently enrolled at Roxbury Community College for the academic year.
Have an active Federal Work-Study award and sufficient remaining FWS eligibility before beginning work.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in accordance with institutional and financial-aid requirements.
Complete all required student-employment and payroll documentation before beginning work.
Work only the approved FWS schedule and duties assigned by the designated RCC supervisor.
Requirements:Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled RCC student who has completed at least one semester, is in good academic standing, and is eligible for Federal Work-Study.
Ability to use general office equipment and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to establish respectful working relationships with people from varied cultural and economic backgrounds.
Reliable, organized, and able to provide professional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest or coursework in business, social science, criminal justice, human services, community engagement, or a related area.
