Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community. The Department of Education recognized RCC as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and as one of the top 100 community colleges in the country for student outcomes through the Postsecondary Success Recognition Program, making it the only community college in Massachusetts with these designations.

Position Summary
The BIC Student Ambassador is an intermediate Federal Work-Study position for students ready to apply stronger communication, research, marketing, program coordination, and entrepreneurship skills in support of the Business Innovation Center. Under BIC staff direction, the student contributes to entrepreneur engagement, outreach, events, marketing, business research, and entrepreneurship programming while building career-ready experience.
Support BIC staff with organizing entrepreneur contact lists, program records, workshop materials, and routine correspondence.
Assist with on-campus workshop, training, networking, and pitch-event logistics, including registration, check-in, materials, and evaluations.
Compile publicly available information on business resources, programs, and opportunities for staff review.
Draft routine flyers, emails, summaries, and presentation materials from approved content for supervisor review.
Maintain organized program files, attendance records, and basic data-entry systems.
Do not independently advise businesses, evaluate or approve funding, negotiate partnerships, manage external stakeholders, or make commitments on behalf of RCC.
Currently enrolled at Roxbury Community College for the academic year.
Have an active Federal Work-Study award and sufficient remaining FWS eligibility before beginning work.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in accordance with institutional and financial-aid requirements.
Complete all required student-employment and payroll documentation before beginning work.
Work only the approved FWS schedule and duties assigned by the designated RCC supervisor.
