Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community. Position Summary

The Transfer Services Student Ambassador is an intermediate-level student employment position that supports the Coordinator of Transfer Affairs & Articulation Services with daily and long-term transfer operations. The student assists with transfer events, database review, research, content development, and operational support while building skills in higher education, customer service, research, communications, technology, event coordination, and professional administration.

  • Greet students and provide approved information about Transfer Services programs, events, and resources.
  • Assist with organizing published transfer materials, articulation resources, contact lists, and event information.
  • Support transfer fairs and workshops through setup, registration, check-in, materials, and attendance tracking.
  • Perform routine research and data entry using publicly available or staff-approved sources for supervisor review.
  • Assist with approved outreach and reminder communications.
  • Do not interpret transfer-credit decisions, guarantee transferability, approve equivalencies, or provide official transfer advising.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled at Roxbury Community College for the  academic year.
  • Have an active Federal Work-Study award and sufficient remaining FWS eligibility before beginning work.
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in accordance with institutional and financial-aid requirements.
  • Complete all required student-employment and payroll documentation before beginning work.
  • Work only the approved FWS schedule and duties assigned by the designated RCC supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Current RCC student eligible for Federal Work-Study and in good academic standing.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the RCC student experience and ability to learn transfer-related systems and resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, organization, attention-to-detail, and technology skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and representatives from four-year institutions.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and appropriately escalate questions or discrepancies to professional staff.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate records.
