Summary
The Reading Support Teacher position is designed to provide small group services to students needing supplemental instruction in Reading and the Language Arts.
Major Responsibilities- Provide instruction to small groups of students
- Assist with educational assessments such as DIBELS
- Implement and monitor student progress computer-based programs such as i-Ready, Lexia Core, and Read Naturally
- Meet with supervisors and teachers for planning purposes
- Write progress notes and collect data
- Other additional duties may be assigned without additional compensation or stipend
- Bachelor’s Degree
- MA Teacher Certification or Highly Qualified
- Strong background in multisensory structured language teaching
- Basic knowledge of instructional technologies
- Successful prior teaching experience; 3 or more years preferred, especially in reading or special education
- Master’s Degree
- Reading Specialist certification, strongly preferred
- Candidate must be flexible during pandemic times in order to support with remote and hybrid learning models
