Position Summary
The Business Office Operations Project Lead is an advanced student leadership position responsible for coordinating the Business Office student cohort while producing lasting operational documentation assets. The student supports peer training and coordination, documents repeatable processes, develops SOPs and workflow maps, and serves as the first student point of contact before matters are escalated to permanent staff.
- Collect regular check-ins from student employees regarding progress, blockers, and findings.
- Coordinate student work across the fiscal closeout and grants-records work streams and communicate progress to permanent staff.
- Document the processes used by student employees and capture repeatable methods for future cohorts.
- Support training and onboarding of incoming student employees on approved systems, workflows, and expectations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for student-team questions before escalation to permanent staff.
- Develop SOPs for recurring Business Office processes based on observed workflows and staff guidance.
- Create visual workflow maps for key procedures.
- Build and maintain a calendar of recurring bills, subscriptions, and renewal dates.
- Maintain a documented record of student processes, progress, and reporting.
- Support end-of-program reflection and documentation, including structured operational feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled RCC student who meets Learn & Earn eligibility requirements.
- Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing.
- Interest in administrative, business, finance, grants, or operational processes.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
- Collaborative approach to problem-solving and willingness to take direction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive financial, vendor, and grant information.
- Demonstrated job readiness, leadership, organization, and ability to coordinate peer work.
- Ability to document processes clearly and translate workflows into SOPs, maps, calendars, or other operational tools.
- Specific relevant coursework, prior student employment, administrative experience, or demonstrated readiness appropriate to an advanced placement.
