Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor (Open Rank),School of Law – Health Policy and Law About the Opportunity

Northeastern University School of Law is seeking candidates at allranks for full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty positions tojoin our scholarly community and enhance our leadership in traininglawyers who make a difference in their chosen fields. We seek candidates whose research, teaching, professional experience,and/or service have prepared them to contribute to our unwavering commitment to the rule of law. Particular focus will be paid to candidates with experience and interest in health policy and law,specifically population/public health, disability, ethics and thelaw;

as well as a deep understanding of law and policy as itrelates to Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, universalhealth insurance; and public health challenges and societal health risks influencing healthcare accessibility policy and law.

Opportunities are available for candidates whose background and qualifications might allow for a faculty appointment entirelywithin the law school or jointly within the law school and anotherdepartment in Bouvé College of Health Sciences.

The Bouvé College of Health Sciences has over 250 faculty members,with approximately 2,000 undergraduate and 2,400 graduate students.

It is the leading national model for education and research in thehealth, psychosocial and biomedical sciences and supports the University's mission of educating students for a life offulfillment and accomplishment and creating and translatingknowledge to meet global and societal needs.

The search committee is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. We alsoencourage applicants to share how their background and experience will contribute to the Northeastern community.

Faculty duties will include teaching law courses at the Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), graduate or undergraduate levels, advising students, conducting scholarly research, and providing service to the Law School, the University, and the legalprofession.

Applicants must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent froman accredited institution by the employment start date. Academicrank at the Associate Professor and Full Professor levels will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a recordof demonstrated scholarly and teaching excellence. Appointments atthe Associate Professor rank require a minimum of 3 years ofrelated experience. Appointments at the Full Professor rank requirea minimum of 6 years of related experience.

Demonstrated scholarship, teaching, or professional experience inhealth policy and law, health care regulation, or public healthlaw; experience with interdisciplinary collaboration across law,medicine, public health, or health administration; and a record of,or clear potential for, engagement with policymakers or health careinstitutions.
