Learning & Development (L&D) Facilitator & Instructional Designer

Type: 9 months contract

We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development (L&D) Facilitator & Instructional Designer to deliver engaging training programs and develop high-quality learning solutions that support employee and leadership development.

The ideal candidate will have strong facilitation, communication, and instructional design skills, with the ability to create inclusive, interactive, and professional learning environments. This role requires someone who can confidently facilitate discussions, manage group dynamics, and develop learner-centered training materials for both in-person and virtual audiences.

• Facilitate instructor-led training in both in-person and virtual environments using established curricula and learning materials.
• Travel statewide as needed to facilitate in-person training sessions.

• Create engaging and inclusive learning environments that encourage participation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Manage group dynamics and address challenging questions and sensitive topics with professionalism and confidence.
• Design and develop learner-centered training materials, including:
  • Facilitator guides
  • Participant workbooks
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Job aids
  • Learning resources
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and SAM .
• Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather content, validate technical information, and develop relevant training materials.
• Collect and evaluate participant feedback and learning metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide observations and recommendations to program leaders regarding participant engagement and training effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate attendance, evaluation, and training records.
• Manage multiple training projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.

• Minimum 5 years of experience facilitating instructor-led training, workshops, or adult learning programs.
• Proven experience designing and developing instructor-led and blended learning solutions .
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies .
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, public speaking, and communication skills.
• Experience facilitating discussions involving diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and other sensitive workplace topics.
• Experience delivering management and leadership development programs .
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage employees at all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite .
• Experience using virtual learning platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom .
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience coaching, consulting with, or supporting leaders to strengthen leadership effectiveness.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning analytics.
• Experience evaluating learning outcomes and using data to improve training programs.
• Experience with Articulate Storyline 360 is a plus.
