JOB DESCRIPTION:
Special Education Teacher
- Discovery Learning Centers
(Master’s level required, Moderate Disabilities DESE certification in required grade level)
- Complete evaluations, write IEPs, progress reports
- Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to students with disabilities, including autism, and/or learning disabilities, and mild intellectual disability
- Modify curriculum to grade level entry points as needed, implement functional curricula
- Implement behavior support plans and collect data to inform progress and interventions
- Consult with general education teachers and staff
- Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis, Social Thinking Curricula, and Zones of Regulation required
- Facilitate social skills groups and incidental teaching techniques for social skills
- Vocational skills as applicable to the program
- Communication with families
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s level required
- Moderate Disabilities DESE certification in the required grade level
