HFA is seeking a skilled and self‑motivated Field Survey Technician to support our architecture and engineering teams by capturing accurate As‑Built conditions of existing buildings and sites. This role requires the use of advanced, high‑value scanning equipment and software to collect essential site data. Candidates must be comfortable with extended weekday travel—up to three weeks at a time, with weekends at home—and be capable of handling physically demanding tasks while maintaining precision, responsibility, and care in the field.
Job Responsibilities- Utilize specialized equipment and software to scan, measure, and document As‑Built conditions for existing buildings and job sites.
- Responsible for the transfer of data, manipulation of captured data for processing in software.
- Develop analytical thinking with photography composition skills, mechanical mindfulness, and software adaptability.
- Maintain proper care of the company equipment and ensure security and safety for yourself, all equipment, and accessories.
- Ability to work without direct day‑to‑day supervision and make technical decisions.
- Must possess strong verbal/written communication skills, the ability to produce work independently, and effectively coordinate with team members.
- Proactive and organized, the candidate effectively manages multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Extensive national travel to perform on‑site property surveys.
- Physically demanding walking, lifting, and climbing on a consistent basis.
