Development Associate - Renewable Energy

A leading independent power generation company with a national footprint is seeking a junior-level Associate to join its Renewable Energy Development team. The organization leverages strong financial backing and advanced energy technologies to support the transition to a more modern and sustainable power grid. This position is based in the greater Boston, MA area.

The ideal candidate will play a hands‑on role in advancing early‑stage (greenfield) renewable energy projects through various phases of development. This is a great opportunity for a self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is eager to take initiative while collaborating across multiple teams. This role reports directly to senior leadership within the renewable energy group.

• Assist in identifying and evaluating potential sites for new renewable energy projects
• Support projects from early‑stage development through the start of construction
• Coordinate with internal teams such as engineering, finance, legal, commercial/origination, regulatory affairs, and asset management
• Work alongside external partners and consultants throughout the development lifecycle
• Track and communicate project milestones, budgets, and key action items to leadership

• Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include engineering, finance, or business
• 1‑2 years of relevant experience, ideally within the energy or renewable sector
• Strong initiative with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information
• Willingness to travel approximately 30‑50% as needed
