Associate, Renewable Project Development I Boston I $80K - $120K + Bonus
As Associate, Renewable Project Development you will support the development of greenfield solar and wind projects from initial site identification through financial closing and the start of construction. This is a hybrid role based in Greater Boston, (4 days per week in office), and represents a strong opportunity for an early-career renewable energy professional to gain hands‑on exposure to the full project development lifecycle - greenfield site identification, permitting and interconnection coordination, financial modeling, and cross‑functional execution - inside a lean, fast‑moving development team.
What You Will Do:- Support the identification of greenfield sites for new renewable energy generation projects
- Advance projects through all stages of development, from site identification through commencement of construction
- Partner closely with internal teams – engineering, finance, energy management/origination, external affairs, legal, and asset management – as well as external consultants
- Build and maintain pro forma financial models, including NPV/IRR analysis, to support project economics and investment decisions
- Prepare and deliver regular updates to senior management on project progress, action items, and budget status
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in engineering or business
- 1-2 years of experience in an energy‑related role, preferably renewable energy
- Strong financial analysis skills, with working knowledge of pro forma modeling and NPV/IRR
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- A self‑starter who works well with personnel at all levels of an organization
- Ability to gather, organize, and systematically analyze complex information
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with GIS software is a plus
- Ability to travel 30-50% as needed
- Must pass a pre‑employment background check and financial credit check
