Clearance: Active Secret or ability to obtain interim secret clearance prior to start
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $115,000 - $125,000 - benefits included
OverviewSeeking a Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer to support the development, integration, and deployment of advanced test platforms and architectures used across multiple defense programs. This role is ideal for engineers with strong electrical design and software automation backgrounds who are ready to lead technical execution while remaining hands‑on in test system development.
The selected engineer will join a project team responsible for test solution development and will support the full lifecycle of test system engineering—from requirements definition through verification and final system sell‑off in manufacturing or field environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities
- Support test development across multiple disciplines:
- Power
- RF
- Analog
- Digital
- Lead small engineering teams, overseeing technical task execution and reporting project cost and schedule status to leadership
- Identify test readiness issues and optimization opportunities throughout the development lifecycle
- Meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments
- Guide mechanical engineering teams and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities with moderate support from senior engineers
- Work effectively as part of a team or as an individual contributor with limited supervision
- Engage in continuous personal technical growth
- Prepare and present work products during project status meetings
- Support manufacturing operations, including on‑site troubleshooting and debugging
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience with electrical engineering design and/or software automation concepts and applications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated experience with electrical engineering design concepts
- Minimum 5 years of related experience (excluding internships)
- Experience leading technical tasks and small‑to‑mid sized engineering teams
- Exposure to project management tools, including:
- MS Project
- Jira / Confluence
- Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Experience with National Instruments tools:
- Test Stand
- Lab Windows/CVI
- LabVIEW
- Experience with Digital, Analog, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design
- Experience with routine use and/or automation of commercial test and measurement equipment, including:
- Oscilloscopes
- Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
- Network analyzers
- Power supplies
