Mechanical Designer

Overview

HFA is an employee‑owned organization offering best‑in‑class mechanical design solutions. We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to support HVAC and plumbing system design in a collaborative environment with flexible work arrangements. Candidates must be located in the Northeast to support regional collaboration.

• Develop, implement, and draft construction documents for HVAC, plumbing, water, sewer, and natural gas systems, including riser diagrams.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to produce construction documents and perform quality control.
• Assist in construction administration, client communication, and budget management.
• Apply national standards (IMC, IPC, ASHRAE) and software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Trane Trace, and energy calculation tools.

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• None required for licensure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, Trane Trace, and energy calculation methods.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design, construction documents, and national standards.
• Ability to perform medium to difficult design challenges independently.
• Experience in training new employees and answering technical design questions.
