Position: AV Commissioning Specialist - (Greater Boston)

* Overview* The AV Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for validating, testing, and optimizing newly installed integrated audiovisual systems across customer sites in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. This role focuses on system bringup, configuration, verification, and final signoff to ensure each installation meets performance standards and client expectations.
Daily regional travel to project sites is required.

* Key Responsibilities
* * Travel to customer and project sites to commission newly installed AV systems

* Validate audio, video, control, UC, and AVover

IP functionality across all devices

* Use Crestron Toolbox to load programs, verify device status, and perform system testing

* Commission control processors, touch panels, switches, and related AV components

* Open, adjust, and finalize DSP files (routing, gain structure, EQ, presets, etc.) using Biamp or similar platforms

* Execute firmware updates and perform systemlevel resets as part of commissioning

* Verify network configurations, VLAN assignments, IP addressing, QoS, and AVover

IP signal paths

* Test system wiring, terminations, labeling, and endtoend signal flow

* Review and interpret AV drawings, signal flow diagrams, network schematics, and project documentation

* Conduct room tuning, mic coverage validation, and audio optimization

* Complete commissioning checklists, redline drawings, punchlist items, and final signoff documentation

* Collaborate closely with project managers, field installation teams, and engineering groups

* Provide professional and clear communication with clients during commissioning walkthroughs

* Required Skills & Experience
* * 3-5+ years of AV commissioning or advanced AV installation/service experience

* Strong troubleshooting and validation skills across AV, control, and networked systems

* Experience with Crestron/Extron/AMX/Cisco/Poly ecosystems

* Ability to load, modify, and validate system files on Crestron processors and Biamp DSPs
*(This is a mandatory requirement.)
* * Familiarity with DSP platforms such as Biamp/QSC/Shure

* Ability to review and interpret AV system documentation and engineering drawings

* Strong communication, professionalism, and ability to represent the company on project sites

* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

* Physical Requirements
* * Ability to climb ladders repeatedly

* Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted

* Ability to work overhead during device mounting and validation

* Adequate visual acuity for cable verification, terminations, and detail oriented work

* Preferred Certifications
* * AVIXA CTS (highly preferred)

* Biamp Tesira certification

* Crestron CTI coursework

* Dante Level 1-3

* Additional manufacturer specific certifications

* Compensation* Compensation is based on experience, technical proficiency, and relevant certifications.

* Pay and Benefits
* The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
